Clarification on news regarding MS/M.Phil and PhD. Programs offered by Virtual University of Pakistan

Dear Students, A news item has recently appeared in print and electronic media regarding MS/M.Phil. & Ph.D programs offered by Virtual University of Pakistan (VU). It is to clarify that being a public-sector institution, VU has full mandate to offer such degree programs, under its Ordinance.  No NOC is required for the University’s MS programs in Computer Science and MS in Business Administration / Equivalent MBA Programs since they pre-date the requirement imposed by the HEC in 2013. Therefore, students enrolled in these programs are not affected in any way. All other students enrolled in MS/M.Phil. and PhD. programs are informed that the University has already fulfilled all prescribed requirements for grant of NOCs and the relevant papers have already been filed with the HEC. Students are assured that the Virtual University, being a Federal Government Institution, is pursuing the matter and the NOCs are expected to be granted by HEC in due course of time. Students are advised to focus on their studies and ignore these distracting news as their future is in safe hands at VU!
